Support Worker Role

I'm Aaron and have just started my role as a support worker for Somewhere House rehabilitation centre. To be honest I still find this a bit daunting to be fair but have an exellent team around me who have trained me well and are always there for support when I need it. I am really enjoying this roll and the best part about it is I can now give back and help and support those that I myself have had experience with including addiction and how to live recovery the best way possible. Sometimes it's good for me to take stock of how far I have come as sometimes I can forget this. It was roughly three years ago that I was street homeless and sleeping in a bush, oh how times have changed. Someone said to me once that if you stay on the path of recovery and keep doing the right things then things will happen that you least expect. Certainly the case for me. Three years ago I had almost given up on life, but because I worked hard on my last chance saloon and had the best therapy and support i'm eternally grateful for. I'm in a job that I actually really enjoy and is the best thing for my own recovery.
