Accepting Students into the House

So, four weeks into a student counselling placement. Lots and lots of learning, reading, reading and did I mention reading? Induction forms, questionnaires, policies, protocols... what a framework of a machine sitting behind the face to face work that happens here. It's like clockwork, mind-blowing and I fully appreciate the work that goes into ensuring that every client and member of staff is safe and everyones needs are addressed. There is literally no stone unturned. I have been fully welcomed into the team, the clients are fantastic and open to change and seeing a new face. I am here one day a week, and over the last four weeks I have been able to attend group sessions, bag checks for a new arrival, been involved in team decisions and even a four and a half mile mindfulness walk in glorious spring sunshine.
