Shop Floor Person

Having been in treatment a great way to integrate back into society is to volunteer. We have a volunteering role in the house called shop floor. This involves supporting the house and giving back. On a typical day on shop floor we help other peers in the house, ask the staff which jobs might need doing, help set up dinning table for the peers and help with lunch, keep the house tidy and also put away food which is delivered. On a Friday we make cakes for staff and peers. These are then used at a Friday afternoon Tea and cake where we discuss what we are grateful for. Being on shop floor also allows us to practice the skills we have learnt in treatment.
