Our Move On Community

Mondays is always the day for our move on group at Somewhere House. Our move on community are a group of people who have completed our in house treatment program and now reside in one of our supported properties locally in either Burnham on Sea or Bridgwater.

They are a diverse group of people who stay with us for a mixed amount of time, from a few weeks to a few years, depending on the support they need to move forward to a fully independent lifestyle.

What move on offers is somewhere to be if people are relocating as well as the support for each other. This support comes in the form of shared dinners around each other’s houses, as well as a friendly ear and people to learn to have fun with clean and sober.

Our move on guys are no strangers to our in house treatment groups or to the people currently in treatment. We encourage giving back by coming in and sharing stories from their lives, the struggles, the laughter and everything in between. Sharing is the gift of giving and this is integral to our philosophy of recovery.

By sharing we get to keep what we have, as messages spread we understand ourselves better, help others and also create a strong community of like-minded people.

“Thousands of candles can be lit from a single candle, and the life of the candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
