Group therapy theory principles

Group therapy using the principles of Person Centred, CBT and Gestalt theory.  The three previously mentioned modalities all play a different but significant role in the planning, preparation, and the thinking behind group therapy.

Understanding the thought process of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural therapy), our thoughts influence our behaviour, we often examine the thought process and its impact on the immediate behaviour, especially in addiction and associated behaviours.

Person Centred, allowing time and space for personal autonomy, growth and unconditional positive regard is the backbone of therapy and the principles of Carl Rogers.

Gestalt, working in the here and now, what is going on for you in the current moment.  This can be felt through body process exercises, allowing a greater understanding of what is going on between body and mind.
