New Admissions at Somewhere House

Today at Somewhere House we have two new admissions.

Admission day can be daunting for a vulnerable adult, new surroundings, new people and perhaps coming from an environment that is not structured or with any requirement to take responsibility.

One of the key factors for the staff team and clients on admission day is to make sure the process is as seamless as possible for the new client, reassurance from those who have been through residential rehabilitation can sometimes be a key factor in a successful treatment programme and subsequent recovery.

Upon admission, clients are taken through some paperwork, shown around the house and to their room. Each new client is assigned a buddy, who is there to make sure they are supported and don't feel alone.

This is all part of the process of change, yes it can be daunting but the rewards of change and a stable recovery are limitless.
