Our clients are encouraged to go on home leave to visit family and friends. This gives an opportunity to explore options for the future, build relationships with those whose trust may have been broken in the past.
We do this in a constructive way putting clear boundaries in place as well as regular contact engaging in local support as well as utilising family and friends if required. On return safe and sound its a celebration of having a successful time out in the community, taking the learning from the time away and bringing to their one to one counselling upon return, any feelings and issues that arise as a result.
Clients are screened for drugs and alcohol on their return and the care manager notified as to how the home leave went.
