Giving back is one of the key parts to a successful and humble recovery. Part of the programme at Somewhere House includes a day of voluntary work, once a client is half way through their treatment.
For many reasons, this is healthy – it gives the client some time out of treatment, added responsibility and more than anything a chance to give back. Some of our clients help disadvantaged children, others volunteer in a brain injury unit and some clients do Equine Therapy and help out at a local farm. These are just examples.
This helps to reintegrate the client back into the community, but also shows the community the value of our clients and what they have to offer.
